Ryelyn by Design is a small business located on the shores of Lake Champlain in the Adirondack region of upstate New York. Owned and operated by Ryelyn McKay, a sole proprietor, she garners help from everyone in her tribe. She loves jewelry of all kinds. Presently she is focused on stamped fine silver necklaces, custom ring design, and spectacular gemstones earrings. She dabbles in leatherwork and fiber art also. Staying true to her inner child, she perpetually changes. New ideas and designs are always coming across her bench. Stretching her abilities she is always trying new techniques, her style ebbs and glows.
Ryelyn currently lives in a historic home in downtown Plattsburgh with her husband and two children. Growing up throughout the U.S. and traveling for most of her adult life has contributed to her style and esthetic of her creations. One style, one way or one type is not her thing. Ryelyn’s designs reflect her evolving lifestyle and aesthetic, ever-flowing and unique.
Creating jewelry since she was a young girl, cultivating this passion into a business was not what she set out to do 14 years ago. After the birth of her children, two degrees and 5 years of teaching mathematics, she was hit with health problems, something which stopped her in her tracks. Creating jewelry has always been a passion for her but now it has become her life and business. Working from home has given her so many opportunities to grow with her family by her side. Watching a mother stay strong through change is a wonderful lesson for her children.
With a strong background in art and fine metalsmithing, Ryelyn has build a platform to launch this journey into the world of professional jewelry design.
